Prospect Hollow is in beta, and the town has a new home

Yesterday I wrote that Tomorrow City was on its way. Things moved quickly: Prospect Hollow is out of alpha, and the first beta is live on its own site. You can go straight in and play. The Beta 1.0.0 release is tagged from the production build, including a last-minute fix to the building cards.

This feels like a good moment to tell you what is there, especially if you have only seen an early version or have a town saved at the old address.

Start small. See where the town goes.

Prospect Hollow begins with a handful of Frontier plots and a mine full of jewels. The puzzles earn the coins you need to build, and each completed era gives the same town a new face. There are now nine eras to grow through, ending with Tomorrow City in 2065. The campaign runs to 372 levels across 62 chapters. You can take your time on a puzzle: there is no move limit.

The final era is no longer a coming-soon preview. Its houses, shops and landmarks turn into domes, glass towers and rounded halls. The east bank gains Sky pods, a Biodome and a Maglev loop. As you modernise the travel buildings, a sky saucer, a solar express and a hover ferry join the town. The later mine chapters bring in charge cores, which light up when you make matches beside them and eventually give you a free bonus gem.

A town you can invite someone into

This beta also makes sharing more interesting. You can send a view-only link to your town, and someone can visit without creating an account. They can look around the buildings you have made, and the visit has its own guestbook and live visitor details. If you keep building while they are watching, the shared view can catch up without asking them to reload. It is a small thing, but showing a friend the town you built feels much better than sending a static screenshot.

Bringing your old village with you

The new address is a different site as far as your browser is concerned. If you played at the older Vercel address, open that town first and choose Settings → Save a backup file. On the new beta home page, use the backup import option and choose that JSON file. Importing replaces the town currently on that device. If you have started one there already, export its backup first.

You can play one town locally without signing in. If you sign in with your email, the account option can keep up to three towns and make them available across devices. The home page now puts that choice where you can actually find it.

What beta means to me

The recent work has also been about the feel of playing: fewer pauses when several buildings finish after a mine run, more room for the village on a phone, and a mine screen that shows your score, stars and chests while you play. There will still be rough edges to find. The full game is in players’ hands now, and their time with it will tell me what needs attention next.

If you have been waiting to try it, Prospect Hollow is ready to play. And if a building, save or visit behaves strangely, tell me what happened. Those reports are what will make the next beta better.
